Job Overview

AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the API Pilot Plant Technical Operations group as a Senior Scientist II, Engineering. This role will serve as a liaison between the Process Research and Development scientific functions and the API Pilot Plant organization.

Responsibilities:

* Manage processes entering the API Pilot Plant, including scheduling, equipment selection, materials tracking, and executing pre-runs.

* Participate in long-range capital planning for Pilot Plant and expansion into new modalities.

* Provide technical oversight of processes running in the API Pilot Plant and responsibility for process-trouble shooting in collaboration with project teams.

* Strong technical mentorship to TechOps group and project teams.

* Responsible for review and documentation of data for cGMP execution of chemical processes.

* Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies for the pilot plant and/or identify opportunities to modify or leverage existing assets to enhance operational efficiency.

* Support the implementation of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and assist with equipment specification, setup, data collection, and analysis.

* Interface with project teams to ensure that processes are safe and operable.

* Partner with API development teams to optimize processes for scale-up and identify appropriate equipment and configurations.

Requirements:

* Proven track record of accomplishment in process research and development.

* Strong technical expertise in process development and scale-up.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Experience with Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and automation.

* Familiarity with cGMP regulations and guidelines.
