Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scientist II to join our team in North Chicago, IL. As a key member of our Quantitative, Translational and ADME Sciences Department, you will be responsible for conducting routine, medium to high volume in vivo biological sample processing for quantitative Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry bioanalysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently process samples from various bio-matrices (biological fluids and tissues) for bioanalysis.
  • Timely and accurately operate multiple robotic liquid handling decks, following extraction protocols in LIMS system, and troubleshoot if needed.
  • Collaborate with team members including Bioanalytical scientists to ensure seamless and timely execution of in vivo small or large molecule quantitation.
  • Maintain excellent documentation of all work including electronic notebooks and protocols.
Requirements
  • B.S or M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field and 3+ (B.S.) or 1+ (M. S.) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous experience with operating and troubleshooting high-throughput liquid handling robotic platforms such as Hamilton, Beckman and/or Tecan is required.
  • Experience with process development or optimization (may include automating).
  • Knowledge of protein precipitation, liquid/liquid extraction, and solid phase extraction.
  • Technical aptitude with strong attention to detail.
