Job Overview

Cushman & Wakefield Multifamily is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team in the local market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and technical expertise to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of our properties.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial property management, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities/property maintenance, engineering, and project management. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, ensuring effective operation and maintenance of properties.
  • Develop and implement technical programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with property managers, chief engineers, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize technical needs and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of capital replacement projects, including scope definition, contract negotiations, and bid reviews.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to building engineers and operations staff, including training and coaching on technical and administrative processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial property experience, with a focus on facilities/property maintenance, engineering, and project management.
  • Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, fire/life safety, and electrical systems, with knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering, architecture, or construction management.
