The Assessment Registered Nurse plays a critical role in the clinical evaluation and disposition of patients referred to our center. This position requires a skilled and compassionate nurse who can provide high-quality care and coordinate with various clinical, hospital, and community resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough clinical evaluations and develop effective care plans for patients
  • Coordinate with clinicians and hospital staff to facilitate hospital admissions according to established guidelines and criteria
  • Develop positive therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
  • Assess patients' conditions, interpret care plans, and evaluate patient response to care
  • Teach patients and families about their conditions and treatment options
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum one year of experience in Medical/Surgery required
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in acute psychiatric care, chemical dependency/detox, and psychiatric intake
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Basic clinical skills in delivery of nursing care in an acute care facility
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality
  • Working knowledge of Insurance and Managed Care criteria, as well as BMC and department admission criteria
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications and ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
Licensures and Certifications:
  • Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Preferred certifications include Psychiatric nursing or clinical specialist certification and Chemical dependency nursing certification or specialist
