Job Description

Fresno City College is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach Respiratory Care courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and experience in teaching and mentoring students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a part-time schedule of Respiratory Care courses, using a variety of pedagogies and integrating technology for face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. They will also be expected to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff, and to evaluate student progress through tests and examinations.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Respiratory Care courses as assigned
  • Use a variety of pedagogies and integrate technology for face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Evaluate student progress through tests and examinations
  • Provide course syllabi to students
  • Maintain classroom records in accordance with District Policy
  • Turn in all required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current state license
  • Minimum of four years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two years in clinical respiratory care
  • Minimum of two years experience teaching an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility
  • Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students in the classroom
  • Willingness to examine and remediate one's instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students
