About the Role:In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to work with a leading healthcare organization, providing diagnostic imaging services to patients across the US. As a Travel Cardiac Sonographer, you'll be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures, including ultrasound examinations, and working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic general imaging ultrasound examinations according to AIUM and ACR guidelines
- Locate and image internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions
- Provide a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including breast, abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN
- Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy
- Review patient case studies with peers and physician
- Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested
- Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers
- Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation
- Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed
- Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace
- Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or request system repair
- Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures
- Comply with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures
- Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure
- Maintain technical competency through continued education
- Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems
- Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
- Abide by all HIPAA standards for patient privacy
- Abide by all OSHA standards for safety regulations
- Ultrasound background with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience required, specifically in the specialties of general, breast, and abdomen
- Acuson S2000 experience preferred
- Experience in Cardiac is a must
- Valid ARDMS license
- Valid CPR certification
