Job Summary

Cornerstone Chemical Company seeks an experienced Operations Superintendent to manage the daily operations of our melamine/urea units. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe operations, meeting regulatory requirements, and driving plant improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead production and reliability staff, including training and development.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet internal and customer expectations.
  • Ensure employee safety and compliance with safety, environmental, and manufacturing policies.
  • Provide daily leadership and supervision to operating and maintenance employees.
  • Prioritize operations and maintenance activities on a weekly basis.
  • Issue safe work permits for confined space and hot work.
  • Operate within budgetary constraints while meeting production and product quality goals.
  • Troubleshoot process operating issues and product quality issues.
  • Maintain focus on longer-term operational issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of process operations and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training in leadership, coaching, and teambuilding.
  • Previous leadership experience with knowledge of maintenance and production planning.
Education
  • High school diploma required.
  • Post-high school education preferred.
