Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a customer industry advocate, enhancing the overall customer experience by thoroughly understanding their risks and providing tailored insurance solutions.
- Utilize a disciplined approach to evaluate exposures, assess risks, and determine appropriate pricing.
- Leverage risk insights, data, and models to make informed decisions at the point of sale.
- Identify gaps in coverage and align Zurich's offerings to meet customer needs, ensuring contract certainty.
- Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and serve as an innovative advisor to clients.
- Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business, maintaining a market-facing presence within the expanding Middle Markets division.
- Administer and monitor underwriting guidelines, insurance regulations, and rating manual rules.
- Develop and nurture relationships with agencies and brokers to enhance business opportunities.
- Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.
Qualifications:
Mid-Senior Level (Level II):
High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or equivalent experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
Senior Level (Level III):
High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or equivalent experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Proficient in risk assessment and negotiation.
- Strong relationships with retail brokers in the Southern California region.
- Exceptional skills in relationship building, active listening, and needs analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, techniques, and regulatory guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
- CPCU and ARM designations are a plus.
