POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing BOM Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting project engineers and managers in the development, modification, issuance, and monitoring of Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs), Work Orders, and Advance Bills of Materials (ABMs) for various suppliers and job sites. This role is under the supervision of the Director of Engineering and collaborates closely with Project Engineering Supervisors, Project Engineers, and Project Managers.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Engineering
Required Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Access)
Knowledge of AutoDesk, AutoCad, and Inventor software
Ability to access and manipulate drawings and models in AutoCad & Inventor
Strong analytical and mathematical skills are essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Basic drafting skills including 2-D representation, orthographic projection, dimensioning, and understanding of line types.
Capability to read and interpret blueprints.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred, along with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage documentation, drawings, and provide technical support.
- Manufacturing BOMs, Work Orders, and ABMs: Responsible for creating, revising, issuing, and maintaining documents necessary for obtaining quotations, purchasing, fabricating, and shipping as directed by the Project Manager.
- Purchase Orders: Collaborate with the Director/Project Manager to prepare and distribute purchasing documents, ensuring proper record-keeping.
- Bid Drawings/Quotes: Issue work orders and prints to selected bidders as instructed by the Project Manager.
- Maintain a Bulletin Log Summary for each project.
- Focus on productivity, timelines, and quality of work to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.
- Develop, update, and distribute customer maintenance requirements including spare parts and system manuals.
- Create and issue installation support materials such as printed tags and laminations.
- Serve as the primary contact for inquiries from sub-fabricators, directing questions to the appropriate Project Manager or Engineer.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
