Position Overview

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing grant-related financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage post-award functions related to grants, including budget analysis, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare timely and precise financial statements for internal stakeholders regarding donor and grant activities.
  • Record monthly transactions related to pledges, bad debts, and credit card payments in the general ledger.
  • Review and categorize invoices to ensure accurate accounting and prepare periodic invoices for project reimbursements.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and communicate the financial status of programs or grants to relevant staff.
  • Ensure adherence to grant and contribution compliance with Standard ASC-606 and internal policies.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and various account reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries to accurately reflect revenue, contributions, and designations.
  • Assist in accounting system upgrades and provide training and documentation for procedural changes.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts while effectively managing resources.
  • Develop and enhance processes to boost efficiency and achieve organizational goals.
  • Exemplify the core values of the organization, demonstrating leadership at all levels.
Qualifications & Skills for Success
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is typically required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities (English/Spanish/Creole) are advantageous.

Salary: $55,000
