Position Overview

Healthcare Support Specialist - Hyperbaric Technician

Role Summary
The Healthcare Support Specialist will provide assistance to medical professionals in delivering various healthcare services while adhering to established protocols and standards. This role involves both administrative and clinical support within a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit professionalism in all interactions.
  • Welcome and prepare patients for their appointments.
  • Understand and apply the policies and procedures relevant to a medical office.
  • Comprehend medical diagnoses and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Operate and monitor the hyperbaric chamber for patient treatments.
  • Document and update patient medical histories accurately.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently.
  • Perform essential care tasks, including vital sign checks.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all medical equipment in line with infection control standards.
  • Respond to phone inquiries from healthcare providers and patients.
  • Restock medical supplies in examination rooms as needed.
  • Clarify treatment procedures to patients effectively.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations.
  • Facilitate patient flow within the clinic.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and utilization reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with legal regulations, including patient confidentiality and risk management.
  • Adapt to varying patient flow and operational demands while ensuring quality care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Proficient in charting and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a medical assistant.
  • Over 2 years of experience in healthcare.
  • Experience as a hyperbaric technician.
  • CPR certification.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare professionals in a dynamic environment.
