About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our Substation Engineering team at Westwood Professional Services. As a Graduate Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of electrical systems for utility-scale substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop protection and control systems for substations
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and drawing packages
  • Review and approve project submittals and RFIs
  • Provide technical support to project managers and teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and check the quality of own and others' work
  • Ability to use sound engineering judgment
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • EIT/FE certification or ability to obtain certification within one year
  • Experience developing one lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC schematics, alarm schematics, communication schematics, wiring diagrams, and associated cable schedule
  • Experience completing AC and DC load, voltage drop, and conduit fill calculations
  • Experience developing equipment and construction specifications
  • AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting experience
