Job Summary

Spartan Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading Material Handling Equipment rental and sales company to find a skilled Field Technician for their team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment systems, including liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, lifting systems, and more.
  • Rebuild and/or repair all components and systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Properly block, chock, and chain equipment, and disassemble as needed to facilitate major component removal and repair.
  • Perform routine and operational maintenance to all equipment according to manufacturer's specifications, ensuring compliance and safety standards.
  • Conduct diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Perform basic welding as necessary to repair or maintain equipment.
  • Record maintenance and repair work, completing necessary paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete basic and advanced technical training as assigned to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain parts and supplies needed for job completion, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain a culture of safety, participating in all safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a strong focus on building relationships and providing exceptional service.
  • Thorough knowledge of all equipment and operations that apply to the branch, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and principles.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, management, and customers.
  • Own tools and equipment, with a strong commitment to maintaining and updating tools as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, with a mechanical or trade school certificate preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in repair or a related industry, with a strong focus on heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
