We are currently seeking a Computer Specialist Lead Technical Support Specialist to oversee advanced technical support for a diverse array of IT systems and networks within a secure environment.



Position Overview:
The Computer Specialist Lead Technical Support Specialist will:
  • Provide expert oversight and guidance to a team of technical support specialists, ensuring high-quality mentorship, training, and performance evaluation.

This role demands proficiency in troubleshooting, system upkeep, and user assistance, with an emphasis on maintaining the availability, efficiency, and security of IT infrastructure. A robust understanding of cybersecurity principles and adherence to Department of Defense (DOD) regulations is essential.



Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:
Guide a team of technical support specialists, offering mentorship and managing performance. Serve as the primary escalation point for intricate technical challenges.

Technical Support:
Identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users. Oversee the management and maintenance of desktop configurations, servers, and network devices.

System Maintenance:
Conduct regular system updates, patch management, and vulnerability assessments. Ensure compliance with DOD 8140 and other pertinent regulations.

Security Compliance:
Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures. Monitor system activities for potential security threats and respond swiftly to incidents.

Project Management:
Coordinate and oversee IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.

Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, modifications, and support activities. Generate reports on system performance and security compliance.

Communication:
Collaborate with other departments, vendors, and external partners to resolve technical issues and coordinate support efforts. Provide regular updates to management regarding system status and ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, ITIL) are preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years in technical support or a related IT role, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory position.

Technical Skills:
Expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems, network configurations, and cybersecurity best practices. Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is essential.

Security Clearance:
An active Secret Clearance is required.

DOD 8140 Compliance:
Must possess or obtain within 6 months of hire a certification that meets DOD 8140 requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP).
Work Environment:

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and transport computer equipment as necessary. Occasional travel may be required for off-site support.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with potential for after-hours support as needed.
