Position Overview
Enhance the educational environment by overseeing a comprehensive range of construction, renovation, and maintenance activities across College facilities. This role requires collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders, including architects, contractors, faculty, and administrative personnel, to ensure that all buildings and infrastructure comply with safety regulations, are properly maintained, and effectively support the College's mission. The position also involves hands-on participation in construction tasks and contributes to the educational mission by teaching construction trades students.

Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction and renovation initiatives across various College locations.

2. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring financial efficiency in construction and maintenance projects.

3. Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and ensure completion within established deadlines.

4. Supervise staff and execute approved construction and remodeling projects.

5. Actively engage in construction activities alongside the trades staff, demonstrating proper techniques and ensuring high-quality work.

6. Oversee construction trades personnel responsible for routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and building upkeep.

7. Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements and safety concerns.

8. Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and other facilities.

9. Manage expenses, negotiate contracts, and seek cost-effective solutions.

10. Stay updated on building codes, regulations, and safety standards to ensure compliance.

11. Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures.

12. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors during design and construction phases.

13. Communicate effectively with College leadership, faculty, and staff regarding project updates and facility needs.

14. Foster positive relationships with external vendors and service providers.

15. Optimize space utilization within existing buildings and coordinate office relocations and space allocations.

16. Assist in planning new facilities based on academic and administrative needs.

17. Promote sustainable practices in construction and building management, exploring energy-efficient solutions and eco-friendly materials.

18. Responsible for the development and maintenance of curriculum and instructional materials for construction trades.

19. Manage classroom activities, including maintaining accurate attendance and grade records, while ensuring a safe and organized environment.

20. Plan and deliver instruction using diverse teaching methods to facilitate student learning.

21. Assess and document student learning outcomes, maintaining related records.

22. Be prepared to respond to work emergencies on short notice.

23. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- A journeyman's card, associate degree, or technical diploma in a construction-related field is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

- Proven experience in construction management and facility maintenance is essential.

- Familiarity with construction software, budgeting tools, and building codes is required.

- A valid driver's license is necessary.

- Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills are essential.

- Ability to adapt to changes in work responsibilities or environment effectively.

- Proactive approach to achieving work goals and maintaining high standards of performance.
