About the Role

Helio Health is seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team in our Inpatient Detox program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance use and mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a caseload of patients seeking treatment for substance use and/or mental health disorders.
  • Perform essential counseling responsibilities, including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Participate in program, administrative, and clinical committees as assigned.
  • Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a human service field required.
  • CASAC-T required.
  • One year counseling experience preferred.
  • Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
  • Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process, and principles of counseling.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.
