Job Summary:
BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Research and Test Reactor Quality Control NDT Specialist to join our team in Lynchburg, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and execute NDT inspection techniques and methods for product verification.
- Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and interpret results.
- Develop and provide technical input for proposals and development activities.
- Provide on-the-job training to NDT trainees and inspectors.
- Oversee the qualification of new and updated NDT equipment and troubleshoot existing inspection equipment.
- Develop and revise procedures to ensure conformance to contract requirements.
- Support customer audits and inspections, and perform internal audits and inspections.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement for NDT inspections.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma with 15 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
- NDT Level III Certification in Radiographic Testing and Ultrasonic Testing.
- Familiarity with the scope and limitation of NDT methods and capable of directing the work of trainees and inspectors.
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and contractual documents that control NDT techniques.
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to develop processes, procedures, and equipment specifications.
- Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- US Citizenship with no dual citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
