Job Summary:

BWX Technologies is seeking a highly skilled NDT Development Professional to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. As a key member of our Nuclear Operations Group, you will be responsible for investigating new technologies and methods of manufacture/inspections for potential application to production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate new technologies and methods of manufacture/inspections for potential application to production processes.
  • Propose new work to expand inspection/process capabilities.
  • Interact with customers to promote good working relationships and understanding of customer requirements.
  • Work with customers to investigate and acquire new technologies which can expand current inspections.
  • Lead collaborative efforts between customer, suppliers, cross-department, and divisions.
  • Plan and manage multiple development projects by preparing instructions, drawings, and routing documents.
  • Prepare customer submittals to communicate detailed information and plans for new systems or systems upgrades.
  • Author reports documenting process/material testing and well-engineered solutions to problems.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical field plus two (2) years of experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, interacting with both hourly and salary personnel.
  • Must possess ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in NDT systems.
  • Programming experience (C++, LabView, Python, .NET, Visual Basic, etc.).
  • Electronic/electrical experience and instrumentation troubleshooting knowledge.

Pay:

The base salary range for this position in the U.S. at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[cust salaryMin]] and $[[cust salaryMax]] per year.

However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.

Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.

If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
