About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Aagard. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Create sound machine concepts, including layout, timing, and drives, to meet customer requirements.
  • Problem Solving and Solution Recommendation: Utilize your technical expertise to identify and resolve complex engineering problems.
  • Customer Support: Provide engineering support to customers, including field issues, retrofits, size changes, and parts questions.
  • Testing and Installation: Support the testing and installation of equipment to ensure seamless integration.
  • Training and Development: Assist with training of internal and external customers on new equipment and processes.
  • Safety and Quality: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Aagard's safety and quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement up-to-date processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate openly with team members and departments to build positive collaboration and share knowledge.
  • Metrics and Continuous Improvement: Support and contribute to department and company metrics, and engage in continuous improvement projects and culture.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of motion and timing, including limits and guidelines, understanding and ability to create machine timing charts, mechanical, controls, and electrical system knowledge, experience with multi-drive automation projects (servo-based), and 2D and 3D CAD experience.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead projects, develop new designs or improve existing designs for simplification and better value, and communicate effectively with a variety of people, both verbally and in writing.
  • Soft Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to work under minimal supervision, and passion for excellence.
Preferred Experience/Skills
  • Project Management: Experience in project management, service/field work, sheet metal fabrication, wash-down applications, identifying and evaluating new products with vendors, testing and debug, machine controls, cartoning, sleeving, case packing, and custom automation.
  • Packaging Materials: Knowledge of packaging materials.
