Position Overview:

Skowhegan Savings Bank is seeking a dedicated individual to oversee our Fairfield branch as a Branch Manager. This full-time, onsite role operates Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts.

Role Summary:

The Branch Manager is accountable for the smooth and effective functioning of the branch, ensuring top-notch customer service while collaborating with the Regional Branch Manager and VP of Retail Customer Relations to set specific branch objectives. This role includes ensuring adherence to all operational policies and procedures, supervising staff, and providing regular updates to management. The Branch Manager will also be responsible for originating and managing consumer loan applications in accordance with established lending policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional, courteous, and efficient service to all clients.
  • Foster a sales-oriented culture and cultivate relationships with both new and existing clients by identifying their needs and recommending suitable products or services.
  • Oversee human resources functions, including performance reviews, disciplinary actions, coaching, and assisting with recruitment and salary management.
  • Lead and motivate a team, focusing on employee development and engagement.
  • Provide comprehensive training and guidance to new hires to ensure effective onboarding.
  • Manage scheduling for Personal Bankers and assign specific responsibilities while monitoring performance.
  • Handle cash transactions, process customer requests, and open accounts accurately and promptly, in line with bank policies.
  • Originate and manage consumer loans within the designated lending authority.
  • Achieve deposit and loan targets for the branch.
  • Maintain cash and coin supplies as per bank policy and assist in managing branch cash limits.
  • Investigate and resolve balancing discrepancies, supporting Personal Bankers with any issues.
  • Assist Personal Bankers with complex transactions and customer service inquiries.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints effectively.
  • Prepare necessary reports, including Currency Transaction Reports, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold safety and security standards within the branch.
  • Ensure the branch premises are well-maintained.
  • Participate in networking events to enhance the bank's visibility in the community.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Business, Banking, Sales, or a related field.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of branch operations, sales, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Effective supervisory and coaching abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
