Division: Cultural Affairs

Compensation: $12.00 per hour

Job Overview:

The role requires adherence to instructions and a solid understanding of custodial equipment, materials, and techniques for maintaining buildings. Candidates must possess the physical strength, agility, and dexterity necessary to fulfill the job's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of community centers.
  2. Sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies as necessary.
  3. Manage inventory of custodial supplies.
  4. Regularly dispose of trash and ensure surfaces are tidy and dust-free.
  5. Secure buildings at the end of the day by locking doors and closing windows.
  6. Execute additional tasks as assigned, including window cleaning and minor repairs.
  7. Assist with scheduled events while paying close attention to detail.
  8. Report any issues to the Division Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

High school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in custodial services is advantageous. Candidates should be able to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions in English.

Availability to work evenings and weekends is required. A valid Mississippi Driver's License must be obtained and maintained. The ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with colleagues is essential. Candidates should be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
