Job Summary
This full-time custodian role in Housing & Residence Life involves performing essential manual tasks related to cleaning, maintaining, and restocking supplies in various residence facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sweep, mop, and wax floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets and rugs in designated areas as required.
  2. Maintain cleanliness in restrooms and offices, ensuring supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels are replenished.
  3. Wash windows, walls, and other specified areas to uphold facility standards.
  4. Collect and dispose of trash, ensuring garbage containers are emptied regularly.
  5. Sanitize trash receptacles as needed to comply with health regulations.
  6. Polish brass fixtures, drinking fountains, and glass doors, along with performing additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or a general education degree (GED) is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, techniques, and departmental policies.
  • Capability to operate commercial-grade cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential matters with discretion.
  • Competence in following written and verbal instructions.
  • Effective time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience in a similar role is preferred, along with knowledge of computer-based timekeeping systems and maintenance work order processes.
