NASA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of General Engineer, AST, Engineering Project Management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and executing missions assigned to aircraft projects under the purview of the Research Services Directorate (RSD).
Key Responsibilities- Manage calendars associated with engineering research projects and flight activities, including flying, modification, and maintenance phases for each aircraft.
- Communicate changes to calendars to all stakeholders and advise on impacts of schedule changes within the organization (cost, schedule, performance impacts).
- Maintain accounting for expenditures associated with each project to include modification expenditures, deployment expenditures, and labor expenditures.
- Maintain communication within the respective branches in RSD, including maintenance, pilot, engineering, and leadership.
- Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence, and innovation.
- One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, supporting engineering management activities for flight projects/research in relation to aircraft modification, maintenance, and flight schedules.
- Participating in project management functions to track cost/expenditures, schedules, or performance of aircraft operations.
- Preparing project documentation related to performance of an engineering system under test or research mission.
A bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following fields: engineering, physical science, mathematics, life science, or computer science. Alternatively, a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field may be considered.
