The Juilliard School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Counseling and Wellness to oversee the provision of mental health services to our students. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to student well-being and a collaborative approach to working with our community.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight for Counseling and Wellness Services, ensuring that our programs and services meet the evolving needs of our students.
- Mental Health Services: Develop and implement mental health programs and services that promote student well-being and provide support for students experiencing psychological distress.
- Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise and mentor a team of counselors and wellness professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to provide high-quality services to our students.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with other departments and teams across the school, including Student Development, Residence Life, and Academic Affairs, to ensure that our services are integrated into the broader student experience.
- Communication and Outreach: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote Counseling and Wellness Services to students, faculty, and staff, and to ensure that our services are accessible and inclusive.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health and wellness, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Accredited Licensure: Possess an accredited license in counseling or a related field, such as LCSW or LPCC.
- Experience: Have at least 5 years of experience in mental health counseling or a related field, with a strong background in providing direct clinical care to students.
- Language Skills: Be fluent in both English and Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience Working with Performing Artists: Have experience providing mental health services to students in the performing arts, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and stressors associated with this field.
- Administrative Experience: Have experience in administrative roles, with a strong ability to manage budgets, supervise staff, and develop programs and services.
- International Experience: Have experience working in international settings, with a strong understanding of cultural differences and the ability to adapt to diverse contexts.
