Job Title: Life Skills Coach

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Life Skills Coach to join our team. As a Life Skills Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting at-risk youth in residential and aftercare services at HOPE House.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement weekly group plans and activities for youth in residential services at HOPE House.
  • Facilitate Aftercare Youth Support Group to connect youth with educational, career, job, social, relational, and other life skills and community resources.
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Coordinator to provide services to runaway, homeless, and street youth in the community.
  • Monitor and maintain all required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and counselors to ensure maximum benefits to youth.
  • Interact with school district personnel and community partners to coordinate services for youth in the Aftercare Youth Support Group.
  • Participate in discharge and service planning with youth and parents.
  • Work with volunteers to ensure appropriate mentoring and tutoring.
  • Enforce program and agency rules, policies, and provisions.
  • Complete required reports to maintain the grant in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; degree requirement may be waived with 3-5 years' experience working with at-risk adolescents.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in working with at-risk youth 8-17 years of age.
  • Good organizational, verbal, and written skills.
  • Dependability, discretion, and good judgment.
  • Computer skills and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients.
