Surgical Technologist Specialist

Klamath Orthopedic Clinic is expanding its surgical team and is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to play a crucial role in preparing patients and the surgical environment for operations.

Our facility operates Monday through Friday, starting at 0600, and concludes when the day's surgeries are completed. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as we do not operate on weekends and do not require on-call duties. This position ensures a consistent 40 hours of pay each week.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients and the surgical area for procedures.
  • Understand the surgical procedures being performed and anticipate the surgeon's needs.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is properly disinfected and set up.
  • Verify that all equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Organize sterile solutions for easy access by the surgical team.
  • Handle sterilized items with care to maintain sterility.

The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure high-quality patient care during surgical procedures, maintaining vigilance over the sterile field.

Respond promptly to requests from operating room staff for instruments and supplies. Assist in cleaning and preparing the surgical area for each procedure. Adhere to all State and OSHA regulations in performing duties.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing.
  • Possession of a valid LPN License.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.

Work Environment:
This position is set in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment. The noise level is typically moderate, and employees will be working in hospital operating rooms.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 100 pounds. The position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, often up to 8 hours.
