Project Manager – Utility Construction
  • The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and finalization of projects within the utility construction industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:Project Planning and Management
  • Develop Project Plans: Create comprehensive project plans that outline project objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Communicate Project Expectations: Effectively communicate project expectations to team members, stakeholders, and third-party contractors.
  • Set Project Expectations: Establish and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.

 

Resource Management
  • Estimate Resource Requirements: Accurately estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Manage Resource Allocation: Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants, and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during the project cycle.

 

Budget and Schedule Management
  • Plan Project Timelines: Develop and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate project management tools.
  • Manage Project Budget: Oversee project budget and resource allocation, ensuring that projects are completed within budget.

 

Quality Assurance
  • Ensure Project Documents: Guarantee that project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Monitor Project Progress: Regularly monitor and report on the project's progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Implement Quality Assurance Practices: Implement project quality assurance practices to ensure that projects meet the required standards.

 

Risk Management
  • Identify Project Dependencies: Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Manage Project Changes: Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

 

Stakeholder Communication
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Establish and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Conduct Project Post-Mortems: Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution, preferably in the utility construction industry.
  • Skills and Certifications: Strong familiarity with project management software, solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, and certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) are advantageous.
