Job Title: Clinical Affairs Project Director

The Clinical Affairs Project Director will lead the planning and delivery of complex and strategic initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing the clinical affairs team through the planning and delivery of various projects. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of business and health industry acumen, a big-picture mindset, and the drive to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage portfolio/program scope, schedules, risks, issues, changes, dependencies, program operations, and progress against success measures.
  • Effectively lead governance/meetings to represent the program to all levels of BCBSA stakeholders.
  • Communicate business and technical risks/issues concisely and clearly.
  • Apply holistic change management process to create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize adoption and minimize resistance.
  • Work with business owners to understand roadmaps and budgets, and conduct analysis on the entire grouping of project code financials.
  • Provide information to management and project stakeholders by assembling and summarizing data.
  • Perform analysis of financial information for the program to provide insight into the financial position and trends.
  • Assist in the development of the program budget, as needed, by partnering with key BCBSA stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree - required
  • Masters Degree - Preferred
  • PMP Certification (or comparable equivalent)
  • Minimum of 8+ years of Project Management experience
  • 5 or more years successfully managing cross-functional/matrixed Programs or multiple large-scale enterprise-wide projects
  • 1-2 years managing a portfolio
  • Experience in directing and mentoring program and/or project managers/scrum masters
  • Experience working in a healthcare and/or regulated industries
Skills:
  • Familiarity with different project management methodologies
  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management tools and change management techniques
  • Knowledge and expertise in managing software development projects
  • BCBS or health insurance industry background, understanding of health insurance concepts
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills
  • Superior analytical skills to support quality decision making in support of the program/projects
  • Demonstrated political and interpersonal savvy
  • Outstanding communications skills, ability to effectively present concepts and issues for both business and technical audiences
  • Manages conflicts by reading situations quickly, identifying potential solutions and gaining cooperation with minimal disruption
  • The ability to establish and maintain high-level customer trust and confidence
  • Demonstrated development and maintenance of business relationships
  • Outstanding organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently, attention to detail and very strong customer service orientation
