Job Title: Nurse Health Services Coordinator

Elizabeth Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Health Services Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students.

Job Summary:
  • To provide quality nursing services to students, staff, and parents in accordance with district policies and procedures.
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • To conduct medical examinations, administer immunizations, and provide first aid as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Health Services:
  • Maintain an efficient and functional health services office.
  • Conduct medical examinations of students as required by law and/or board policy; refer cases of suspected disease, illness, or injury to the medical inspector for opinion and direction.
  • Schedule and assist medical inspectors in conducting annual and special examinations of students.
Cumulative Student Health Records:
  • Create, maintain, and update cumulative student health records, ensuring pertinent health data are entered.
  • Examine students returning to school after absences due to illness or injury, recommending exclusion of students showing evidence of communicable diseases or unacceptable evidence of immunizations.
Audiometric Examinations and Tuberculosis Screening:
  • Conduct annual audiometric examinations of all students as mandated by law.
  • Administer tuberculosis screening for students as mandated by law.
Emergency Response:
  • Handle medical emergencies that occur in assigned buildings.
  • Assist in reporting accidents occurring in the building or grounds.
  • Monitor and report high or unusual incidents of respiratory or other diseases or illnesses in assigned buildings.

This is a 10-month tenurable position, evaluated by the building principal consistent with statute, code, and collective negotiations agreement. Compensation and benefits are established by the collective negotiations agreement. Estimated salary range $60,000 - $80,000 annually, based on education and experience. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong commitment to providing quality healthcare services.
