About the Role

Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Hannum Garden Apartments in West Chester, PA and Washington House Apartments in Coatesville, PA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform minor to medium-sized repairs in apartments and on property.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of property inside and outside.
  • Prepare units for new move-ins.
  • Maintain and complete a preventative maintenance program.
  • Assist the Community Manager in overseeing property maintenance contracts, scheduling contracted work, completing capital expense work, and conducting inspections.
  • Participate in 24/7 emergency maintenance coverage on a rotating schedule.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, and HVAC.
  • Basic knowledge of using hand and power tools.
  • Current driver's license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Moderate effort in lifting, moving, operating equipment, standing, and climbing/walking.

The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, dust and dirt. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasional exposure to heat, cold, fumes, odor, and noise. Seldom exposed to dryness, wetness, vibration, and poor ventilation.
