Position Summary: This role is part of a union
The Celebration Coordinator will assist the Events Operation Manager and Senior Celebration Coordinator in the planning and execution of museum-hosted birthday celebrations, ensuring the smooth operation of the program. Key responsibilities include setting up and dismantling party areas, providing support to clients and guests during events, facilitating activities, and finalizing sales transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Celebration Coordinator in managing birthday client reservations.
- Act as a secondary contact for inquiries and bookings related to birthday parties.
- Ensure each celebration adheres to the scheduled timeline.
- Provide primary coverage for the Senior Celebration Coordinator as needed.
- Maintain an onsite presence during birthday events.
- Open and close party rooms to guarantee a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment.
- Assist in coordinating reservations between the museum and birthday clients.
- Oversee the proper care, movement, and storage of all equipment and supplies.
- Inspect equipment and supplies for damage and inventory after use, and communicate restocking needs.
- Organize and prepare activities in the party spaces for upcoming clients or internal events.
- Offer knowledgeable solutions to any challenges that arise regarding client needs.
- Deliver exceptional service to all clients.
- Assess guests' needs and accommodate them accordingly.
- Assist in the implementation and execution of activities for party attendees.
- Maintain a tidy and organized work environment, including both public and private areas.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols while using equipment and materials.
- Restore museum and grounds to their original condition post-event.
- Ensure birthday clients meet their contractual obligations, including payment receipt.
Additional Duties:
- Cross-train in admissions and the museum store.
- Assist with the execution of event rentals as necessary.
- Understand, follow, and enforce museum policies and procedures.
- Support and facilitate emergency procedures when required.
- Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to cross-train in various departments.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Preferred personal or professional experience working with children in the hospitality sector.
Skills:

Physical Requirements & Equipment Usage:
- Regularly move throughout the museum to set up, monitor, and dismantle parties.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs consistently and up to 60 lbs with assistance. Preparation and setup may require significant physical effort.
