Job Summary:

The Modification Shop Lead is responsible for overseeing all motor modification shop activities and personnel at WEG Electric Corp. This role requires a strong leader who can drive team performance to meet team goals, ensure the shop is properly supplied, and manage team schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modify electric motors as per customer specifications, ensuring high-quality results and meeting customer demands.
  • Investigate returned motors, prepare written reports on issues, and work with visiting engineers and QA personnel to evaluate possible factory issues.
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows, utilizing systems and engineering tools for quotations, order entry, and analysis of customer performance data.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse manager to ensure proper placement of modified motors in inventory.
  • Mentor and facilitate professional development among team members, promoting efficient and collaborative work practices.
  • Assist the Mod Shop Manager with workforce management, including hiring needs and separations.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in motor modification or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage AC motors, modification procedures, and industry certification requirements.
  • Proficient in using systems and engineering tools, as well as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle manual and power tools, and understand and follow safety procedures.
