Job Summary

Suncap Technology, Inc. is seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team at our psychiatric hospital in Binghamton, NY.

About the Role

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate LPNs to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced inpatient setting. As an LPN, you will be responsible for supervising patients, administering medications, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, monitor, and record individuals symptoms and conditions to obtain and provide information for diagnosis and treatment;
  • Identify responses to medication or changes in health status and report such to a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed healthcare provider;
  • Maintain charts and other records of individuals conditions and/or administered treatments;
  • Prepare individuals for or assist with examinations and treatments;
  • Attend to individuals personal needs, including activities of daily living and hygiene tasks;
  • Talk to individuals, listen to their concerns and responses, and encourage them to cooperate and participate in treatment and rehabilitation activities;
  • Educate and counsel individuals and/or families regarding their health, medications, treatment goals and procedures, and behavioral interactions as appropriate;
  • May perform housekeeping tasks, such as changing linens, and assist other staff in cleaning activities to ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for individuals;
  • Monitor supply inventories and complete requisition forms to ensure adequate supply levels;
  • May observe and supervise the activities of unlicensed direct care staff, including the administration of medication, to ensure compliance with applicable requirements;

Requirements

  • Current LPN licensure in New York State;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working as an LPN in a psychiatric hospital or similar setting;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills;
