About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineering Design Professional to join our team at SMRT Inc. in Portland, ME.

Job Description

This is a paid internship opportunity that will provide hands-on experience and valuable real-life skills for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Mechanical Engineering degree program.

Responsibilities:
  • Dive into projects alongside experienced architects and engineers.
  • Attend client and team meetings.
  • Tackle real-world challenges.
  • Help shape the future of design.

You will work on a cross-disciplinary project with fellow interns and present your solution to the firm at Intern Summit. This is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons and deepen your knowledge in areas like Business Development, Sustainable Engineering, and Integrated Design.

Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Mechanical Engineering degree program.
  • Completed two years of the degree program prior to the start of the internship.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Benefits and Compensation

This internship is a paid position, and you will also receive travel expenses to attend the Intern Summit in Portland, ME, and a mid-point check-in in Andover, MA. As a member of our team, you will be welcomed as a full team member, not just an intern. Your ideas matter, and we want to hear them. You will contribute, learn, and grow in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.

The estimated salary for this role is $25,000 - $30,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. However, please note that this is an internship, and compensation may vary.
