Research Assistant II

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant II to join our team at the Genomic Medicine Center at Children's Mercy Kansas City (CMKC). The successful candidate will support research efforts in precision medicine, genomic medicine, and related fields.
Key Responsibilities- Support the collection and processing of patient samples, including tissue digestion, cell isolation, and preservation, as well as cell culture.
- Conduct laboratory experiments for human DNA and RNA isolations using bioanalytical approaches independently.
- Implement, develop, and optimize techniques in the laboratory, including protocols related to genome sequencing (such as Single-cell RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, and IsoSeq).
- Collaborate with the Genomics Core facility, researchers, and PIs from within the Genomic Medicine Center as well as from other Divisions.
- Collect and organize research data accurately and efficiently.
- Work efficiently as a laboratory team member.
- Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science or Chemistry and 3-5 years of experience, preferably experience with molecular biology and related fields.
- Preferably experience with next-generation sequencing and human tissue processing and cell culture.
