Production Blending Specialist

BLENDING TECHNICIAN

Under the general supervision of the Production Team Manager, the Blending Technician will operate blending equipment to process ingredients for batch formulations. Responsibilities include maintaining production records and entering data into the relevant systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and initiate automatic blending machinery.
- Continuously load packaging and raw materials.
- Pack finished products, ensuring critical timing checks on equipment, and prepare machinery prior to shift commencement.
- Execute product changeovers, adjust package sizes, and perform minor repairs on all equipment.
- Understand scheduling and effectively perform in the absence of the crew leader.
- Ensure quality and quantity of daily production.
- Document and log downtime and machine adjustments.
- Implement loss control measures for raw and packaging materials.
- Assist in preventative maintenance tasks with the maintenance team.
- Follow detailed procedures and complete paperwork accurately to guarantee safe, consistent, and quality products.
- Collaborate with teams to identify process issues and improvement opportunities through active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions using a principle-based safety approach.
- Conduct monthly safety and quality inspections during assigned weeks.
- Replenish production lines by operating a forklift safely.
- Calculate batch and material usage accurately.
- Adhere to the plant attendance policy.
- Perform additional duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic understanding of computer systems for data entry.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform numerical calculations.
- Proficient in reading and writing.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
- PAPR/Respirator use is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with SAP, Infinity, Power Point, and Access.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
