As a Process Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in delivering technical solutions tailored to the Core operations. This role is integral in ensuring a prompt and effective response to various activities within the unit, including project execution, project support, and cross-functional collaboration to adapt solutions that align with the safety, environmental, quality, cost, and customer delivery objectives of the Belcamp Plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project execution (establishing and adhering to budget and schedule, supervising construction, training personnel, overseeing startup, and coordinating with QC/QA, safety, health, environmental, and maintenance teams) for projects up to $10M or participate as a member of a project team.
- Provide technical expertise to plant safety professionals on safety initiatives when designing or redesigning work processes to mitigate workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Identify improvement opportunities, troubleshoot issues, and implement action plans to ensure effective outcomes.
- Conduct engineering studies, designs, and justifications for approval to support operational goals.
- Maintain historical data to analyze and monitor key efficiencies and parameters against design to assist operations in troubleshooting and achieving cost and production targets.
- Evaluate, seek approval for, and implement enhancements to the plant's safety, reliability, capacity, operating costs, maintenance, and product quality.
- Stay updated in the field, assess new technologies and ideas, and develop, evaluate, and seek approval for innovative concepts to enhance process efficiency, facility longevity, and product quality.
- Facilitate process training and ensure documentation is current upon project completion.
- Support ongoing training for operations to maintain operator proficiency.
This role is ideal for you if you possess:
- Experience in executing projects or process enhancements and troubleshooting within a manufacturing context.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting technical information and preparing concise reports.
- The ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, build consensus, and cultivate relationships across various organizational levels and functions. A self-directed approach with a high level of initiative is essential.
- A demonstrated capacity for sound judgment, resourcefulness, and innovation in managing complex technical assignments with minimal supervision.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Proven ability to implement projects/permits and perform engineering functions in a manufacturing setting, demonstrating that completed projects meet design objectives.
- Project Management training and/or certification is advantageous.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm.
- On-call and weekend responsibilities may be required to address issues in a 24/7 manufacturing environment as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
