Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic procedures/studies.
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety, mental, and physical comfort.
  • Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to physicians.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education and Experience
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
