Job Title: DevOps Engineer

This federally funded research center is dedicated to applying cutting-edge technology to national security challenges.

The Enterprise DevSecOps engineer's main responsibilities will be to design, evaluate, plan, implement the functional and non-functional requirements of a secure enterprise DevSecOps platform of services. This engineer will help build our platform's DevSecOps infrastructure(s), as well as bring automation and efficiency to both existing and new use cases. The role requires a focus across all components within a DevSecOps system to develop and communicate standards and best practices both from a service perspective as well as a security perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, evaluate, plan, and implement the functional and non-functional requirements of a secure enterprise DevSecOps platform of services.
  • Help build our platform's DevSecOps infrastructure(s) and bring automation and efficiency to both existing and new use cases.
  • Develop and communicate standards and best practices across all components within a DevSecOps system.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive technical expertise in a variety of DevSecOps commercial and open-source automation tools and products, along with knowledge of their optimal use cases.
  • Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience performing process improvements, and applying tools and technologies to automate activities for operational and financial value.
  • Familiarity with scripting & programming languages, such as Python, Java, bash, C/C++, Go, etc.
Must-Have Skills:
  • DevOps Tooling (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Artifactory, Jenkins, Satellite, Quay, Landscape) – Advanced
  • Linux / Windows administration – Intermediate
  • Exposure to automation tools (BigFix, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, CfEngine) – Advanced
  • Security Standards, best practices, scanning tools (Nessus, Forte, SonarQube) – Advanced
  • Programming/scripting languages (Python, bash, Perl, Go) – Intermediate
