Job Summary

The Charge Nurse is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the unit and ensuring the highest level of patient care. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care
  • Develop and implement unit schedules and staff assignments to meet patient needs
  • Participate in performance appraisals and provide feedback to nursing staff
  • Ensure that nursing staff meet approved standards of practice and adhere to unit policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care
  • Provide patient care as needed, utilizing nursing skills to assess and address patient needs
Requirements
  • Two years of acute experience in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff
  • Current California RN License
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification within 3 months of hire/transfer
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification A within 3 months of hire/transfer for those working at FPH
