Job Title: Credentialing Specialist

Join the County of Los Angeles team as a Credentialing Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of patient care. As a key member of our Medical Staff Services team, you will be responsible for verifying the credentials of healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify the credentials of healthcare professionals, including licensure, certification, and education
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of credentialing information
  • Communicate with healthcare professionals, hospitals, and other stakeholders to resolve credentialing issues
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance credentialing processes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as healthcare administration or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical staff services or a related field
  • Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
