Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of large-scale projects valued between $200 million and $750 million, ensuring alignment with business unit objectives.
  • Collaborate with project and business development teams to strategize, budget, and devise project solutions that enhance Air Liquide's competitive edge.
  • Plan and execute projects in accordance with Project Management Institute standards and Air Liquide protocols.
  • Lead a global project execution team, incorporating representatives from various business sectors.
  • Engage in engineering review meetings at international locations to ensure project alignment.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project risk register, actively managing identified risks and opportunities.
  • Facilitate the negotiation and execution of engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
  • Implement tracking mechanisms and progress reporting through metrics and dashboards for upper management communication.
  • Establish baseline project schedules and monitor adherence to these timelines.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities to secure necessary permits and licenses.
  • Guide the project team in the creation of subcontract packages and lead contractor selection processes.

  • Supervise onsite construction activities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Analyze and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote teamwork across operations, engineering, construction, and project delivery teams.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and proper construction techniques.
  • Prepare comprehensive internal and external project reports in compliance with Air Liquide's standards.
  • Manage and negotiate construction subcontract change orders as necessary.
  • Champion safety performance across all project aspects, particularly on construction sites.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Initiate and organize projects, establishing budgets and monitoring progress, while implementing the Project Execution Plan.
  • Ensure service quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Develop self-inspection methods to achieve quality objectives.
  • Manage contract conditions and oversee job execution within the defined service area.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Owner Representatives, addressing their requests and negotiating contract variations.
  • Forecast project resource requirements effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to the Project Execution Plan and associated procedures.
  • Investigate and implement Value Engineering and Capital efficiency initiatives, promoting a culture of Continuous Improvement (CIMP) among project members.
  • Ensure compliance with established contract requirements, Owner Representative expectations, and project coordination procedures.
  • Guarantee that procurement and subcontract bidding align with Air Liquide's policies and governance standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited institution; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15-20 years of experience in engineering, project management, or construction within an EPC organization, with exposure to business development and procurement.
  • Demonstrated competence in conflict resolution and crisis management; military experience is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, across multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to mentor and share technical knowledge with team members.
  • Proven planning skills and comprehensive understanding of the construction process.
  • Established leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with up to 30% of time spent on the road.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
