Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the Outpatient Pharmacy area, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of medication services.
  • Provide medications and pharmacy services to defined outpatients, including clinic, employees, hospice, and discharged inpatients.
  • Review patient clinical information to ensure medication prescriptions are appropriate, and confer with physicians and other healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies and problems.
  • Perform all necessary documentation and coordination of services required, including dispensing functions and patient medication information and counseling.
  • Ensure the successful adjudication of prescription claims to third-party payors and maintain appropriate medication inventory.
  • Support customer service and performance improvement goals of the Pharmacy Department, collaborating with other caregivers and staff to enhance patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist licensure in the state of New Jersey.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulatory Agencies, JCAHO Standards, ASHP practice guidelines, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
