Job Summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Registered Pharmacist to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and services in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operation of the Out-patient Pharmacy area, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Provide medications and pharmacy services to defined outpatients, reviewing pertinent patient clinical information to ensure medication prescriptions are appropriate.
  • Confer with physicians and other healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies and problems with medication prescriptions.
  • Perform all necessary documentation and coordination of services required.
  • Provide drug information to physicians and other healthcare professionals as requested.
  • Perform all dispensing functions of a registered pharmacist, reviewing written prescriptions and processing prescriptions utilizing the electronic database processing system.
  • Ensure the successful adjudication of prescription claims to third party payors.
  • Maintain appropriate medication inventory by coordinating procurement of medications with the pharmacy purchaser.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist licensure in the state of New Jersey.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
