Job Title: Payer Medical Science Liaison

Job Summary:

The Payer Medical Science Liaison will serve as a scientific resource to payers and key opinion leaders, providing timely clinical, economic, and scientific product updates to inform adoption and diffusion decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of regional specific healthcare systems, health economics, and payers, as well as the ability to translate data-driven evidence into decisions that align with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain scientific relationships with key external customers, including payers and key opinion leaders.
  • Provide timely clinical, economic, and scientific product updates to inform adoption and diffusion decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Market Access team to serve as a scientific resource at payer accounts and integrated delivery networks.
  • Develop a tactical customer-centric medical engagement plan in alignment with management.
  • Provide insights from external customers to ensure strategies and tactics are robust in filling key evidence gaps from a payer perspective.
  • Support identification and assist with development of scientific materials and training required to effectively conduct scientific exchange.
  • Execute and document customer interactions in the appropriate systems and tools.
Requirements:
  • Advanced science/clinical degree (PharmD, M.D., DO, Ph.D.) with one or more years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience, or
  • Masters level degree in health sciences (e.g., MS, MSN, MPH, MHA) with three or more years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience, or
  • Combined BSc. with a MBA, or BSN with a MBA, and five or more years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience.
  • Four or more years of experience as a MSL within the respective therapeutic area with primary emphasis on payers or Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) required.
  • Knowledge of regional specific healthcare systems, HEOR, and payers.
  • Deep understanding of US healthcare industry trends, and in-depth knowledge of the US healthcare delivery system, including payors and organized providers.
