About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Patient Financial Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our Medical Financial Solutions department, you will play a crucial role in securing payment of patient balances on behalf of our hospital clients.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with patients through scripted conversations to collect their portion of the account.
  • Using analytical skills to determine patient eligibility for additional resources to settle financial obligations.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Patient Financial Advocate, your day-to-day role will involve:

  • Making and receiving calls to initiate arrangements for patients to pay their portion of the account.
  • Responding to billing inquiries to address patient questions about their accounts.
  • Negotiating payments and payment plans to work with patients to find solutions.
  • Processing credit card payments to ensure efficient payment processing.
  • Escalating complex billing issues to refer high-complexity problems to a supervisor.
  • Meeting daily production requirements to exceed expectations and achieve goals.
  • Adhering to regulations by following all applicable disclosure and collection rules and regulations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 1 year of recent experience in a call center environment.
  • Medical/insurance/billing experience is preferred, ideally with remote work experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $35,488. This includes a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental & vision, critical illness, accident, and hospital insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short and long-term disability, health spending account, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, and time off/leave (PTO, vacation or sick leave).
