Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Concessions Management Specialist to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a key member of our Commercial Services Program, you will be responsible for managing and administering commercial use authorizations and special use agreements, interpreting and educating the public on permit requirements, and evaluating and maintaining concessionaire bids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate rent deductions for housing needs and requirements for permanent and temporary staff, process quarters management for contractual rental rates and agreements.
  • Review, select, monitor, and maintain commercial use authorizations and special use agreements, interpret, educate, and inform the public of permit requirements.
  • Evaluate, maintain, and select concessionaire bids, grade concession programs, assess special requests, and ensure operations are in accordance with contractual language.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
  • Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
  • Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
  • Time-in-Grade: Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements.
  • Incidental Driving: You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
  • Uniform: You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

  • Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal Service.
  • Have at least one year of graduate level education.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in which you achieved superior academic standing based on 1) class standing, 2) grade point average, or 3) membership in a national scholastic honor society.
Education

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
