Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our culinary team at the Douglasville Conference Center. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including dishwashing, food preparation, and storage.
  • Set up and break down dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
  • Assist with banquet buffets, including plate-up and delivery of food.
  • Maintain clean and dry floors throughout the shift.
  • Properly wash, stack, and store china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
  • Change water in machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels.
  • Assist with food deliveries and maintain trash cans throughout the shift.
  • Maintain the dry storage area and organization of storage shelves.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing the China room and warehouse.
  • Follow daily dish cleaning duties and assist with food preparation as needed.
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred.
Work Environment

This position will consist of event attendance, preparation, set up, and breakdown. The majority of work will be performed within the Douglasville Conference Center, with occasional travel to other venues within the region.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through a kitchen space, and traveling to different venues.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting approximately 40 pounds.
