We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Loan Originator Assistant to join our team at Wintrust Financial. As a key member of our mortgage banking team, you will play a critical role in the origination, processing, and closing of loans.
Key Responsibilities- Work directly with Loan Officers to assist in the origination, processing, and closing of loans.
- Manage loan pipeline, ensuring commitment and closing dates are met.
- Monitor the status of each file and ensure accurate and efficient processing through closing, including guideline research.
- Review files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Work with internal and external customers, including referral sources such as attorneys and agents.
- Assist in marketing the Loan Officer's services to new prospective referral partners, utilizing marketing materials.
- Manage day-to-day transactions and relationships with customers and vendors.
- Meet with potential borrowers to analyze financial situations and needs for purchase or refinance, gathering necessary documentation for the loan process.
- Provide necessary documentation to processing and underwriting departments to ensure timely loan closings.
- Excellent multi-tasking, interpersonal, organizational, communication (both written and oral), and telephone etiquette skills.
- Self-starter, motivated, energetic, with excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take direction.
- Updated and current knowledge of Fannie/Freddie guidelines.
- Working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, and Internet.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of mortgage banking experience or related experience in sales/marketing.
