The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to NASA's Orion spacecraft and leverage expertise in ablative materials, including Avcoat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the redesign of heatshield Avcoat blocks and oversee the planning and execution of the delta qualification program.
  • Provide expertise on ablative materials, including Avcoat.
  • Conduct Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) techniques and contribute to the development of material allowable tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field and 25+ years of experience.
  • Experience with Avcoat or other ablative materials.
  • Proficiency in NDE evaluation techniques and capabilities.
  • Experience in material allowable test planning and execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and executing probability of detection test plans.
  • Previous experience working with NASA programs.
  • Hands-on experience with bonding materials, processes, and techniques.
